As soon as I saw this, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. A handyman for our office gave it to me; all rusty with old wood stuck in it. He said he found it in an old 1800’s barn that he tore down and had no use for it.
I, personally thought I wanted to leave it rusty but when I told my husband, you should have seen his face.
I decided to go ahead and paint it. First it was going to be black but I love Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Multi Purpose Spray Paint in Colonial Red. I have used it in several other projects around our home. I figured if I didn’t like it, I would change it to Rustoleum in Black.
I took the whole pulley apart, removed the wood, just spray painted it with Rustoleum and VOILA!! Not one bit of sandpaper was harmed in the making of this lovely light fixture!!
